History

As education remains the first and foremost priority of any nation in order to grow and progress, contribution in education is always valuable. The level of literacy and education of a nation is critical for any form of social uplifting and prosperity. Keeping in mind that this is the most important form of corporate social responsibility, WAPDA is providing education to WAPDA/Non-WAPDA students at extremely nominal fees through educational institutions across the country. This is an extremely valuable contribution because majority of the students belong to lower strata of society in economic and social terms.

As per directive of honorable chairman WAPDA, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Zulfiqar Ali Khan, the WAPDA Authority approved commissioning of the WAPDA Cadet College at Tarbela Dam in its meeting held on March 27, 2004. Subsequently, WAPDA Cadet College Tarbela was inaugurated by Mr. Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, Minister of Water & Power on May 27, 2004.
